The New Gate Arch is the gateway to the city of Braga, Portugal.
This "new" city gate was opened in 1512, at the time of Archbishop Diogo de Sousa.
The current building dates back to 1772, was designed by André Soares and ordered the building by the archbishop Gaspar de Bragança.
The construction of this door marks the time when the city outgrew its walls and began to grow to the outside.
Was classified as a National Monument in 1910.
