Braga is the oldest Portuguese cities and towns of the Christian world's oldest founded in Roman times as Bracara Augusta, has more than 2000 years of history as a city.

 

Located in northern Portugal, more specifically in the Valley Cávado, Braga has 175 063 inhabitants at the county (2007) being the center of the Minho region with more than one million inhabitants (2007). It is a city full of culture and traditions, where history and religion live side by side with the technology industry. In popular jargon is known as the City of archbishops for centuries its archbishop was the most important of the Iberian Peninsula is still the holder of the old title of Primate of the Spains. It is also regarded as the largest center of religious study in Portugal The city is closely connected with the whole Minho: the north lies the traditional Minho, east to the Peneda-Geres, south land manor Basto and Industrial Ave and the west coastline Minhoto.
